Alan Stamm Obituary

Alan Edward Stamm, 83, passed away on September 4, 2026 in Duxbury MA, after a long battle with heart disease and COPD.

He was born on March 27, 1943 in Arlington, MA to Milton and Alice (Nickerson) Stamm (formerly Stammatello).

Alan worked at General Motors for 30 years, many of which were as an elected United Auto Worker (UAW) Union Committeeman, a role in which he relished mediating disputes and resolving a variety of grievances.

Upon retirement, Alan devoted his time to his many passions, including creating the perfect tan by the ocean or pool, serving as “mayor” of his condo complex in Florida, house flipping, golf, weekly luncheons with his Thursday Crew, visits to the horse track with his dear friends in MA and FL, and his quest for the perfect pie. “The end result is” he lived his life on his own terms to the end.

Alan is survived by his children, Allison, Victoria, Christopher, and Christina, grandchildren Patrick, Lucas, Roman, Nathan, and Augustine, great-granddaughter Rose, former wife Greta, son-in-law Michael, many nieces and nephews, and long-time partner Laura, who cared for him in his final days. He was preceded in death by his parents, and four siblings.

At the express request of the deceased, there will be no funeral service, in lieu of a private family gathering
