Alan H. Tottle, known to most as Al, of Carver, Massachusetts, passed away at the age of 76 on September 16, 2026, after a sudden illness.

Al was a lifelong New Englander born in Somerville, Massachusetts on February 21, 1950, and spent most of his youth growing up in North Weymouth where he made lifelong friends. In 1967, Al at the age of 17, enlisted in the US Marines, where he served his country proudly in the Viet Nam War. After returning from military service, he settled back to North Weymouth, entering the workforce as a carpenter and building maintenance.

It was there that he met his future wife, Joanne Penny, where the courtship turned into a long, happy marriage lasting 51 years. Al loved being near the ocean spending leisure time boating and fishing with family and friends. Al in his later years, retired with Joanne to Carver, enjoying gardening, working on his cars, model trains and carpentry, until the day, God called him Home.

Al is survived by his wife Joanne of Carver, sister-in-law Lois Hall of North Weymouth, nephew Richard Kelley of Oakley, California, nephew Dennis Kelley of North Weymouth, sister-in-law and brother-in-law Donna and Joe Farina of Plymouth, and many nieces and nephews.

A private funeral service will be held on Monday, September 28th at 9:00 AM at the Shepherd Funeral Home, Carver. 

A public graveside service will follow at the MA National Cemetery in Bourne at 10:45 AM.
