Beverly Joyce Breed Hovey, 90, a resident of Benchmark Senior Living at Plymouth Crossings, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2026.

 Born April 28, 1936, in Boston, MA to Blanche Oceana (Hoyt) and Charles Alfred Breed, Beverly graduated from Newton High School and attended Lasell Junior College.

 She met and married the love of her life, William Vaughan Hovey in Newtonville, MA where they started their family. They moved to Needham and later Duxbury, where Beverly was a nursery school teacher at First Parish Church. She was an active member of Pilgrim Church of Duxbury, a past president of the Duxbury Garden Club and a volunteer at the Art Complex Museum of Duxbury.

 Beverly will be remembered for her love of family, her strength, and the many memories she created with those fortunate enough to know her. She was an amazing cook, an accomplished needlecrafter and hosted wonderful parties. She traveled the world with her husband Bill, enjoyed walks on the beach and the company of her dogs. Her kindness, warmth and devotion to those she loved will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

 She is lovingly survived by her children Susan Dickow of Plymouth, Cynthia Ferreri and her husband, Donald of Plymouth, William B. Hovey and his wife, Kristen of Foxborough, Thomas W. Hovey and his wife, Donna of Plymouth and Timothy V. Hovey and his wife, Kendra of Plymouth. She also leaves behind 19 cherished grandchildren: Charles Tyler Dickow, Sarah Dickow Richárd, Samantha Ferreri, Andrew Hovey, Charlotte Smith, Robert Alec Hovey, Nicolas Hovey, Olivia Hovey, Eli Hovey, Alana Hovey Stuart, Vaughan Hovey, Coleman Hovey, Simon Hovey, Mariah Speedling, Grace Hovey, Priscilla Hovey, Thomas Hovey, Jr., Brigham Hovey and Oskar Hovey. In addition, she is survived by 7 great-grandchildren, an expected great-grandchild, 3 nieces, 4 nephews and dear friends who will miss her greatly.

 Beverly was preceded in death by her beloved husband in 2011, her parents; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Norman and Josephine Vaughan; her sister and brother-in-law Betsy and John Woodacre and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law Warren and Priscilla Young.

 Beverly had a lifelong love of animals. In her memory, the family invites those who wish to honor her to consider a donation to the Plymouth Animal Shelter, Plymouth Helping Hands for Animals, or another animal rescue organization of their choice.

 Arrangements are under the care of Shepherd Funeral Home, Kingston, MA. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
