Obituary

Christopher "Chris" Flood, Jr., 86, a long-time resident of Plympton, MA, passed away on January 15th.  He was born on August 6, 1936 to the late Christopher and Lorinda (Gookin) Flood in Whitman, MA.  He was a graduate of Whitman-Hanson High School in the 1950's.  In 1960, he married the late Theresa (Harshani) Flood and they had two children.  Chris served in the National Guard for 8 years.  He worked at Commonwealth Shoe Co., the horse farm Krispy Ranch in Plympton, the Emhart Corporation at the shoe shank shop, a custodian at the Charlie Horse restaurant in Kingston, and then a custodian at the Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical High School.  Chris loved to write books and short stories, especially in the western genre.  He had a book published during the 1980's in England called "Plenty Wagon, No Horse".  Chris loved conversing with his family and friends and he was a talker.  He would talk to anyone about anything for hours on end.  His other interests were horse racing, watching the Red Sox, old movies, western tv shows, feeding birds, and yard work, especially tending to his blueberry bushes.


Chris is survived by his loving daughter Colleen Flood; his step-sister Jacqueline Smith; his brothers-in-law William King and Robert Harshani; and many nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by his parents Christopher Flood Sr. and Lorinda (gookin) Flood; his step-father James Condon, Sr.; his son Christopher Mark Flood: his brothers Richard and Gary Flood; his sister Lana (Flood) Smith; step-sister Dawn Monahan; and step-brothers James Condon, Jr. and Robert Condon.


Visting hours will be held at the Shepherd Funeral Home 216 Main Street (Route 106) Kingston, MA on Tuesday January 31st from 4-8PM.
