Claire Jameson
Manganello
April 1, 1945 – December 2, 2025
Claire (Jameson) Manganello passed away on December 2, 2025, at the age of 80, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with esophageal cancer.
Born in 1945 to Paul and Helen Jameson, Claire was raised in Braintree, MA and attended Braintree High School. She graduated from the Newton-Wellesley Nursing School in 1966 and received her BS in Nursing from Curry College. She married the love of her life Paul in 1969 in Hawaii, while he was on leave from his Vietnam service, a storybook beginning to a lifelong partnership. In 1972, they moved to Duxbury where they raised their three sons.
Claire spent many years as a nurse, including several years at South Shore Hospital before taking on the role of health educator at Cardinal Cushing Centers, which she held for more than a decade. Following her retirement from Cardinal Cushing, Claire started a new chapter as a certified yoga teacher, sharing her love of yoga with people of all ages.
Claire is survived by her husband Paul; her sister Barbara Naranche and spouse Anne Reel of Elkhart, Indiana; son Mark Manganello and his wife Erin of Duxbury; son Mike Manganello of Durango, CO; son Jim and his wife Missy of Duxbury. Known as Nene to her grandchildren: Clay, Calvin, Casey, Anna and Clara, Claire was a loving caregiver, patient teacher, and adventurous playmate and her grandchildren adored her. Claire leaves behind many nieces and nephews whom she enjoyed spending time with, whether it was enjoying the outdoors, baking cookies, crafting, or celebrating their personal milestones.
Claire was happiest spending time with family and friends, practicing yoga, birding, gardening, and dispensing words of wisdom to her loved ones. She and Paul enjoyed traveling, especially visiting the country's National Parks with friends and family.
A celebration of Claire's life will take place on Friday, December 5 at 10:00 at the First Parish Unitarian Church at 223 Main Street in Kingston. Please note parking is across the street from the Church.
