David J. Kelso, age 76, of Carver, passed away on Monday, May 25. Born on September 3, 1949, in Somerville, he was the son of the late John Kelso and Georgia (Cordro) Kelso.

In addition to his parents David was predeceased by his niece, Nicole Colletti, and his dear friend, Edward Cort Jr. He is survived by his sister, Starr (David) Keefe, and his nephew, David (Jennifer) Theriault, both of North Carolina. He also leaves behind his longtime friend, Karen Cort, along with her children—Jennifer, Edward III, and Derreck—whom David considered family. Additionally, he cherished their children, whom he regarded as his great-nieces and great-nephews.

David proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1967 to 1969. Following his service, he spent much of his adult life in Brockton before making Carver his home more than 35 years ago.

David will be remembered for his loyalty and friendship. He touched many lives throughout his years and will be greatly missed.

In accordance with his wishes, services will be held at Massachusetts National Cemetery on Monday, June 15, 2026, at 9:30 a.m., where military honors and a prayer service will be conducted. Family and friends are invited to attend.
