Douglas E. Perry, 63, of Carver, MA, died on August 27, 2026, while in hospice care. Doug had courageously battled cancer for many years. Throughout his illness, he chose to participate in clinical drug trials, hopeful that his involvement and the knowledge gained from his treatment would contribute to the ongoing fight against cancer and help others facing the disease.

Born November 21, 1962, in Middleborough, MA, he was the son of Charles A. and Roberta J. (Colvin) Perry. Doug was raised in Carver and, although life took him to St. Johnsbury VT, and Nashville TN, he ultimately returned to the town he always considered home. Carver was more than just the place where Doug lived—it was where he felt a deep sense of belonging. He loved the land, the people, and the familiar places that had been part of his life since childhood. He was happiest when he was outdoors and connected to the place he called home. Doug worked as a cranberry grower and an arborist, occupations that suited his appreciation for the outdoors. He was an avid outdoorsman who found some of his greatest enjoyment in fishing, hunting, and spending time in the woods and cranberry bogs. He was a member of the Old Hickory Lake Bowmen Club in Hermitage TN and many of his favorite memories were made outdoors alongside family and friends. Doug began playing the drums as a teenager and was the drummer for the local band ‘The Crew’. He appreciated the simple pleasure of being outside sitting around the fire pit, sharing a good story, and enjoying the company of the people he cared about.He treasured the time spent with his family and friends, whether gathered around a table, out fishing or hunting, or simply spending time together, Doug valued those relationships and the memories they created. He will be remembered for his love of family, his connection to his hometown, his appreciation of the outdoors, and the friendships he formed throughout his life.He leaves his son, Kyle Martin; his mother, Roberta J. Perry; two grandchildren; his brothers, James (Tina) Perry and Michael (Debbie) Perry; and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was predeceased by his father, Charles A. Perry, and his sister, Jane L. (Perry) Murphy.

Friends and family are invited to attend his Celebration of Life on October 10, 2026 beginning at 1:00 pm in the gazebo at the Perry home.
