Gwendolyn Joyce Vaughan, 94, of Carver, passed away in February 2026 following an illness.

Born June 27, 1931 in Norfolk, VA to Harry and Virginia Stuart, Joyce – as she was always known – moved to Carver at age 19 and wed Theodore Vaughan III. The couple were married 66 years, until his passing in 2015. Throughout her life, Joyce worked in a number of fields unique to the town she called home, including jobs at summer clambakes, Edaville Railroad, and well-known local drug store Sedell's, in addition to being a cranberry screener, a schoolbus driver and a postal worker in town. In her free time, she and husband Ted tended to their well-loved gardens at their Main Street home.

Joyce is survived by her two children, two brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, and her three grandchildren, as well as several great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Services and burial will be private.
