John Carson was born on July 1, 1935, in Brookline, MA, and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 1, at Sunrise Assisted Living in Braintree, MA. He joins his beloved wife of 42 years, Marjorie Wright Carson; his parents, Katherine Keating Carson and John Carson Sr.; his sister Elizabeth; and many cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is survived by his four daughters and their families: Jeanne Dejesus and her husband Noel of Rockland, MA; Marilyn Carson and her wife Jennifer Gottberg of Marlborough, MA; Katherine Carson and her partner Dan Kelleher of Stoughton, MA; and Janet Lyons Carson of Weymouth, MA. He also leaves behind his three grandchildren, Joseph James Cesarini and his partner Ashley Lynne of Bourne, MA, Michelle Dejesus, and Danielle Dejesus, as well as two great-grandchildren, Sophia and Gabriella Cesarini.

John grew up in Brookline, MA, attended Brookline High School, and graduated from Fisher College. Before serving in the U.S. Army in Hawaii, he drove taxis and worked as a driving instructor, which is how he met his future wife, Marjorie. Upon returning from his service, they married, settled in Norwell, MA, and later moved to Plymouth, MA. After working in banking for 20 years in Boston, John built a long career with UPS, driving double trailers across New England until his retirement.

John was extremely proud of his family, loved family gatherings, and was known for his bright smile. Later in life, he joined the Kateri Tekakwitha Church in Plymouth, moved to Carver, MA, and became a beloved member of the local senior community. For the last several years, he resided at Sunrise Assisted Living in Braintree, where the Memory Care team provided compassionate care through his final days.

At John's request, a private burial will be held, and he will be interred alongside his wife at the National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
