Joyce A (Smith) Reddington, 87 years old of Kingston, MA passed away on Wednesday June 10th at home with family at her side. She passed of natural causes.
Funeral Mass service will be held at Saint Joseph Church, 272 Main Street, Kingston, MA on Wednesday, June 17th at 10am with Fr. Jack Graham presiding. Burial will follow at Massachusetts National Cemetery, Connery Avenue, Bourne, MA. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 16th from 4pm to 7pm at Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main Street, Kingston, MA. Shepherd will be handling the funeral arrangements.
Joyce was born in Brockton Hospital to Stanley Russel Smith and Marion (Finnegan) Smith on August 2nd, 1938. She attended Quincy High School and graduated in 1956. She was enrolled in the business courses and excelled in this field. She worked for numerous originations as an office manger for over 50 years. Her favorite venture as an office manger was working for her father's business, Davidson-Smith Painting & Lettering. She was also an entrepreneur of women's fashion. She was the proud owner of Unique Boutique in Wareham and Elegant Designs in Plymouth.She loved being with her family hosting celebrations and holidays over her life time. She loved Cape Cod and would plan family vacations at various locations many summers from the time her children were young until her health failed. She graduated as one of the top business students at Quincy. She loved to sing and as a young girl would sing with her sister Gail and later sang in chorus club in high school and as an adult the church choir. She loved sewing and would create many items for her children when they were young. She was creative, making many floral arrangements, collages and more. She was a Kingston Girl Scout Leader and an CCD teacher. She would always donate and give her time to numerous causes. Her favorite time was with family. She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. She will be deeply missed.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan Reddington-Cohen and husband Bruce Cohen, Beverly Graham and partner Michael Shean and Cathleen Bongarzone. Grandchildren, Jennifer Graham and partner Casey Dupras, Justin Graham, Jared Graham, Alisha Mazzilli and husband Jacob Mazzilli, Charles Bongarzone and Sara Bongarzone. Great Grandchildren, Savannah Dupras, Nathaniel Dupras and Jonas Mazzilli. Many nieces and nephews. Sisters, Gail McDougall and her daughters Bonnie Glynn, Nancy Lloyd and her husband Paul Lloyd, Valerie McGowan and partner Michael Doherty. She is preceded in death by her husband Donald Reddington,her parents Russell & Marion Smith, and brother-in-laws Fredrick McDougal and Patrick McGowan.
Memorial donations may be made to Cranberry Hospice, 36 Cordage Park Circle, Plymouth, MA 02360 in Joyce's name in lieu of flowers.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all the team members at the assisted livings (Sunrise of Plymouth & All American at Wareham) and rehabilitation centers (Life Care Center of Plymouth & Sippican of Marion) that Joyce resided in over the last several years. Special thanks to Nicole Botelho formerly at All American Assisted Living at Wareham, presently with Sunrise. Most currently special thanks to all at Bayada VNA & Cranberry Hospice.
