Judy White Morris of Duxbury passed away on November 27 at the age of 78 after a long illness. Judy was the second daughter born to Stanley and Janice (Buck) White on April 25, 1945.

She was raised in Holbrook by her mother and father along with two sisters and a brother. Always a creative person, Judy was voted "Most Artistic" in her high school class. She went on to attend Massachusetts College of Art for painting in the 1960's. Following that, she used her painting and graphic design skills, along with her singular fashion sense, in her job as head designer for the Filene's Department Store in Boston until it sadly closed its doors for the final time decades later.

Judy's responsibilities included designing and managing the installation of seasonal store displays for all Filene's locations. Her storefront Christmas holiday window displays drew crowds of shoppers to the area each year so that they could determine whether Judy's Filene's window designs were again superior to the Macy's display across the street. During that time, Judy continued to produce her own artwork which could be found for sale in art shops along Charles Street, close to where she lived for many years on Beacon Hill.

A huge fan of rock and roll, Judy and her husband Mitch never missed an opportunity to see their favorite bands, the Rolling Stones, Iggy Pop and many others live at the local concert venues. Her extensive rock band t-shirt collection was to be admired. After her retirement, Judy and Mitch and their beloved cats moved to their house in Duxbury. There she continued to make paintings, elaborate holiday, birthday and special occasion cards, and spend time with her extended family. Her 4th of July gatherings were a yearly highlight for family and friends.

Judy is survived by her husband Mitch Miller of Duxbury, sister Elizabeth White of Yarmouthport, brother Norman White and his wife Donna, of Pembroke. She was the aunt to Scott Fader and his wife Laura of Hanover and Nicole White of Crockett CA. Judy was predeceased by her sister Linda Fader and husband Robert.

Judy was an incredibly kind, thoughtful and beautiful woman who is already missed by those who love her.

Visitation hours will take place on December 16th from 10am to 12 at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 216 Main St., Kingston MA. A graveside service will take place at a later date.
