Patricia
Lake
June 13, 2023
On June 13, 2023, Pat Lake passed away, with family by her side, at the McCarty Care Center of Sandwich following a brief but courageous battle with Cancer. Our dear, Pat, was just 76. Her former husband and forever best friend, George Lake survives her, along with daughter, Ashleigh Lake, son, Benjamin Lake, and her five beloved grandsons Alexander, Casey, Joshua, Hayden, and Justin.
Pat was born in New Haven, CT on March 27, 1947. She attended high school at Waterford High, class of 1965. Pat went on to Dean Junior College and graduated from the University of Bridgeport with a degree in early childhood education. Pat married her high school sweetheart, George Lake, in 1971. The couple started a family with the birth of their daughter, Ashleigh, in 1972, and then welcomed their son, Benjamin, in 1976.
Following her nature to nurture, Pat began her teaching career in 1969 at the Francis Parker School in North Quincy. Later, Pat and George were the proud owners of BBBinks Restaurant in Raynham, established in 1976. After supporting the family business as a comptroller until 1999, Pat returned to her true passion, education. She loved teaching at Carver Elementary School, where she was lovingly known as Mrs. Lake by her first, second, and Kindergarten students. Pat earned her Master's degree from Fitchburg State in 2005. Mrs. Lake retired from Carver Elementary School in 2017. Pat would reflect on her days' spent teaching as some of the happiest in her life. She was treasured by her colleagues and students.
Pat's greatest loves were her family. She was a devoted Grammy and never missed an opportunity to support her grandsons. She truly cherished every sporting event, special occasion, concert or birthday party where she could share her pride and joy for her loved ones.
All who knew her were touched by her enormous spirit, so full of kindness, generosity and thoughtfulness. She had a special way of sprinkling magic wherever she went…her sparkling green eyes and bright smile will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed with the gift of her presence. Mom, Grammy, Pat, friend, you left us the gift of beautiful memories, your love will remain our guide. Rest peacefully.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday, Jun 29, 2023 between the hours of 10:00 am - 2:00 pm, at Shepherd's Funeral Home, Carver, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated in memory of Pat to the McCarthy Care Center, in Sandwich, MA.
