Phyllis Marie (Dugay) York of Carver passed away peacefully at Wingate at Silver Lake nursing home on April 26, 2026. She was 90 years of age.
She was born in Rumford, Maine to her beloved parents Ora and Wilfred Dugay and moved with her family in 1942 toSomerville as Wilfred sought work as a welder at the Boston shipyard. The family then ultimately settled in Jamacia Plain.She graduated from Blessed Sacrament High School and entered the workforce before marrying the love of her life. Phyllis was full of life, laughter, and strong faith, an active member of Holy Family Church in East Taunton and St. Kateri in Plymouth.
She was the cherished wife of the late Richard C. York, inwhose arms she is now embraced. She is survived by her brother Dennis Dugay and his wife Catherine, and her sister SandieDugay. She was predeceased by her son Richard, her brother William Dugay and his wife Judy, and her brother Leo Dugay.
She was the beloved mother of Jeanne Solaas and her husband Arnold of Deltona, Florida, Thomas York and his wife Ann of Braintree, Christopher York and his wife Elizabeth of Worcester, and Susan York of Carver. She was the grandmother of Kristin, Samuel, Samantha, Nicholas, and Allie.
All are invited to a memorial mass to be held Friday May 1 at 10:30, at St. Kateri Church, 126 South Meadow Rd, Plymouth,MA. The burial will follow at Cedar Knoll Cemetery in EastTaunton.
