Richard Edgar Smith

Richard Edgar Smith, 87, passed away peacefully at home in Plymouth MA, on April 24th 2026.

He is the son of Edgar and Lillian Smith of Brockton Massachusetts.

Richard graduated from Brockton High School. After graduating Richard Joined the Navy and became an electrician. He worked at Raytheon for one program then started his career at The Phone Company and retired after 38 years In retirement he worked part-time at the Pine Hills Golf Course for 10 years.

Richard enjoyed Gardening, Collecting Decoy Ducks and Glass Insulators. For a good amount of time he was an avid road biker. He rode along with friends and organized rides with The Mass Bay Road Club.

Richard is Survived by his beloved Wife Joan Crawford (Bartlett) of 62 years, his sons Darryl and Bryan Smith and Daughters Bethany Santos and her husband Francis and Galynn Frechette and her Husband Michael. He has five grandchilden, Bryant Smith,Bryenna Wood, Joseph Frechette,Peter Frechette and Benjamin Frechette along with two great grand children.  Brayden and Jacobi Wood . He will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.

A private graveside service will be held for Richard.
